Earlier this week Noreen Turyn, anchor on the 6 pm news interviewed me for 3 segments. One was about cat training, one about animal actors and the 3rd about my facility, Shady Mountain Pet Retreat. The first two segments will premier on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8, likely during the 6 pm news program that Ms. Turyn anchors. The 3rd segment is not yet scheduled.

Animal Actor Presentation and Assessments
April 28, 2012 at the Roanoke PetEX 10am – 5pm
Do you think your pet can be a star? Come to the Roanoke PetEx and find out how you can do this and receive a free assessment of your pet’s potential.
Miriam Fields-Babineau will be giving a presentation about her animal actor agency and discussing how pet owners can turn their pets into animal actors. Assessment spots are limited so to insure a spot, go to our Contact Page and sign up your pet.
Books written by Miriam Fields-Babineau will be available for purchase and she will be available to autograph them as well. Also available will be her pet training products – Comfort Trainer Head Halter, All-in-One Leash, Couplers, Pull Tabs and Cotton Collars, for sale.
Ms. Fields-Babineau will also be judging the Fun Pet Show. Bring your pet and participate in this fun competition. All proceeds will be equally split between the animal humane and rescue groups represented at the PetEx. Winners will get fantastic prizes!
Fun Pet Show Classes ($2/class):
Best Costume – The most unique, fun and compatible costume
Simon Says – Judge will call out and those who don’t follow, or do so without hearing “Simon Says” first will be excused.
Longest Sit/Stay – The dog that can hold the position the longest wins
Longest Down/Stay – The dog that can hold the position the longest wins
Best Nose – Pet owner brings favorite treat or toy, judge hides it and dog must find it. The fastest nose wins!
Best Groomed – Judged by softness, cleanliness of coat, clear eyes, clean ears, clean teeth and good pedicure.
Rally – O Novice Course – 15 “stations” showing actions such as turns, circles, stopping, etc. This is open to dogs and cats. Each participant must go through the stations and perform the action. Points taken off for poorly executed action, missing a station, or pet leaving ring. If there is a tie, the participants will redo the course while being timed.
